Starting the end of April 2019, crews will begin work on phase three of the Navy Pier Flyover construction. Crews will be tunneling through two limestone bridge houses on the east side of the Lower Lake Shore Drive bascule bridge to widen the path. As construction continues, structural repairs will be made to the bridge including cleaning and repairing mechanical parts that raise and lower the bi-level bridge.

Traffic will be impacted during non-rush hours on Lower Lake Shore Drive to prepare for the stage change which will close two southbound traffic lanes through July 2019. Visit the Detours & Closures page to plan your trip accordingly.
