The elevated path of The Navy Pier Flyover is now closed for pedestrians and bikers in compliance with Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s executive order in response to the ongoing public health crisis. For more information on this executive order, please click here.
This order, which closes Chicago’s lakefront, public parks and other trails, was issued to safeguard public health and encourage residents to practice essential social distancing techniques shown to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The order went into effect Thursday, March 26 and will remain in place until the end of the stay-at-home order currently slated through April 7.
Many alternative routes are still available to Chicago residents choosing to walk or bike to work during this time, and residents are encouraged to visit Chicago.gov/CDOT to view the city’s network of 248 miles of bike lanes.
